I'm not familiar with the Tjader album, but other 2 are 2 of my favorites.

The Tjader disc is a fav. Twas 2 separate vinyl releases on one cd. The live performances are great IMO, but the sound is not consistent. First half of disc is great, last half is disappointing.

wonder why this album is so much more popular than the Birth of the Cool which to my mind is many times more interesting from a musical standpoint. Is it just the hype around the So What cut? I know its the seminal Bill Evans quartal voicing thingie, but frankly, SO WHAT?
