Let me please tell a story of my past adventures in NYC where I lived for many years. I was standing outside Basin Street East in the early 70s. Which was a mecca for jazz people of all description ,there were many musicians and patrons who attended the place.I was standing in line outside. The line was long and I eventually gave up.Lo and behold there was Duke Ellington standing on line with the rest of the people. When I spotted him the crowd gave up a cheer that he was with them.A humble man, an icon he could have easily gone to the head of the line and simply stated who he was.His action speaks of the humility and respect he had.I'm listening to his "JAZZ PARTY"and recalling it and wanted to share my thoughts with the members of AC.
