SOLO/QUARTET- Bobby Hutcherson (Contemporary).  Side one is Bobby overdubbing himself on vibraphone and marimba and it is done sooo tastefully with lovely results.  Side two he is joined by pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Herbie Lewis and drummer Billy Higgins and it swings more but never departs from the mood.  Highly recommended late night listening.

Moondog / London Saxophonic - "Moondog: Sax Pax for a Sax"

.... Moondog.. ...From the late 1940s until 1974, Moondog lived as a street musician and poet in New York City, busking mostly on the corner of 53rd Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan.

Quote
The encounter of the "Lakou Boys" with guitarist virtuoso Jean Paul Bourelly.
He put voudou music right in the middle of the international musical scene performing in Germany with his group Ayibobo with special guest voudou priest Mathias Agbokou, from Benin. Known for his musical odyssey in the black Diaspora, Bourelly is like the pilgrim who cruises various genres and connects hidden dots and uncovers unspoken truth. This former member of the M-Base movement     (Steve Coleman & Co) has visited many cultures from the Middle East to Africa, exploring root music and soaking into different traditions to transform his own musical experience. He is known for putting together intriguing bands with original and iconoclast sounds. This is maybe where the convergent point emerged between this guitar wizard-freak and the forgotten geniuses of former band "Foula". ...http://gpfabe.eu/Ayibobo.htm

Underneath It All- Harvie Swartz (Gramavision- a short lived label that recorded upcoming player/composers).  I bought this cause I know HS from his recordings with Double Image on ECM.  He's looks to be about 25 years old on this and he's a somethin else kinda special musician on acoustic bass.  I dunno anybody outside of New Jersey that remembers him.  Maybe Lonewolfny can surprise us.  He's just far fabulous as a composer, acoustic bass player and band leader, imo.

Minutes later and I'm listening to Dawn by Double Image on ECM.   This is gonna be hard to find (unless you contact the label, maybe) but well worth your effort.  I'm assuming a lot, I know.  I can't help myself listening to this.

Haven't heard this one but I have several and will sample it.  Makes me feel good every time someone posts one by him.

There were two releases in the 50's, I was a teenager, one mono and one stereo.  The song selection, the orchestra and Ms. Christy sound wonderful.
