Welcome, of course. But, the best thing is to just jump in and start posting. Get in there and get involved.

Just an observation re: site traffic. Seems consistently that this time of year, summer/post school, visitors, and members posting decreases. Time to be outdoors and active, and more activities than during the cool/cold months in general. fwiw

I use a password vault on my computer, but it doesn't log on to sites unless I tell it to. When I'm just browsing AC I don't log in. I only log in when I'm going to post or if I want to look at the Trading Post. I suspect that many "guests" are actually members who are just not logged in.

Makes sense to me.

I don't believe too many people do that. The only thing is on my work phone, I don't keep myself permanently logged in so I get timed out. All others are permanently logged in.

I understand why you are doing that, but most people are just browsing this forum from the outside to see what's going on. If you internet search for something, you will come across posts in many forums.

That's what I do as well, and would agree with your suspicions.

I think you might be surprised, but I was wrong once.

Yep. I scan the RSS feed, check the posts that look interesting, and log in if I decide to post a comment. Guests here are most likely members looking around for discussions to which they might want to contribute.

I'm sure some are referred from Google searches, but the administrators can see that from Google Analytics. Other search engines (Bing, DuckDuckGo, etc.) driving Guests here will show up as referral traffic in the site's analytics software.

If you are sincerely interested, you can get more information from a site admin. But I don't think you are sincerely interested in any of the numerous topics you post. It seems to be a game to manipulate traffic in the forum.

If you don't like the Music Circle, you don't have to show up here. Everybody seems to enjoy themselves except people like you.

This started as an innocent thread discussing people lurking on the Music Circle. It doesn't matter how people read posts, nor if they read posts are not. It doesn't affect me.

Instead of bitching about what is posted, you know you can create threads discussing what you think is an interesting topic on Music. I even stated to PM me your idea so that I can back you up.

But, no. People like you just seem to crap on everything.

Well a porno sex forum will have more traffic certainly but not audio.

Not if the subject line is suggestive enough. I was striving for accuracy not salaciousness when I wrote the subject line:
"Babylon (2022) - decadence, debauchery, excess and passion in 1926 Hollywoood" although my review did mention "... drugs, sex, boobs, more drugs, more sex, more boobs ..."
https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?board=9.30

I thought the 100's of guests 24/7 nonstop for weeks would send up a red flag but AC servers must be very robust. I didn't think there were 20,592 film buffs looking to watch Babylon, if there were there should have been at least one reply.

Update: I just noticed that "Butcher's Crossing" guest count (33,606 and counting) has beaten "Babylon" so it looks like Buffalos and Nicholas Cage are better than sex. 60 guests are reading the Butcher's Crossing review right now.
Butcher's Crossing (2023) - Nicolas Cage Goes Buffalo Hunting

Hopefully they come for the movies and stay for the audio.
