Title: Quality of 70s recordings?

Some of my favorite party bands from back in the day were Kansas, Boston, BTO, Van Halen, Iron Maiden...what was the general quality of those recordings?

Hi Ed,

Boston, Kansas and Van Halen are very well recorded (in general). My experience is with vinyl only and the US first presses and Japanese first presses are top notch, in fact the Epic US 1st press of Boston S/T is one of my best sounding records.
