Title: RIAA and 103
Post by: valis on 30 May 2005, 05:45 pm
Greetings,
It seems to me that the S&B RIAA "in a can" and TX103 are just screaming to be mated to make a great low gain MC passive phono preamp.  Do you have any intention to design such a product or any advice for a DIYer that is thinking of doing just that?

Thanks,
Phil

Hello!

Thanks for the interest. To use the riaa from scratch is still really an advanced diy project since you need to scratch design the circuits ahead and after the riaa - kinda fun if you are up to the task but not fun if you are new to diy and circuit design! I posted some ideas on riaa design Thorsten had passed on a while back here:

I have not been in touch with Brian from diyhifisupply for a bit now but I gather he has been doing a stage with the tx103 and riaa in it - likely with some input from Thorsten as well. I think it is a basic stage he has and then he offers an upgrade to the riaa and tx103.

Hope that helps!

Thansk!
