Looking at some 4B's and 3b's
« on: 23 Feb 2011, 02:23 am »
Hi All

I have been doing some upgrading to my HT system and aquired some new 4 ohm speakers.  First thing I noticed was that my AVR wasn't up to the task of running the fronts and center.  A friend, who's an audio tech were I work, lent me an older 4B and this made a huge difference in the fronts.

He has several 4B's and a couple 3B's for sale.  These are an older style, past their 20 years, but he had them all reconditioned by Bryston before the warranty ended.  I don't know what Bryston would have done to an older unit to recertify them and any idea what is a reasonable price per unit.  I'm looking at getting either a pair of 4's or 3's.  Any ideas?

Thanks
Zuter

They are great amps. Sound great and very reliable. I own a few. I would say a 3B reconditioned  and in good cosmetic shape  should fetch $675 and 4B would be $800.
