The ideal drive choice would a DVD reader/burner over a Blu-Ray drive (a bluray drive will either not read cd's or have dual lasers and sometimes the laser for cd's/dvd's won't reach the end of the last track and it gets cut off; this rare but does happen). The second trait is a drive that has its own power supply, not a necessity but its more likely to work with a BDP as the BDP doesn't have to power it.
