Title: Denon 301II on Rega P3
Post by: Animule on 5 Mar 2022, 03:16 pm
Howdy! This is my first post here. I will be replacing the Elys 2 cartridge on my Rega P3 with a Denon DL 301 mk2. If anyone has made this change, got any tips? This is the first time I've ever replaced a cartridge as well so I appreciate any advice on the topic. In my cursory reading, I think I might need to add spacers of some kind. Any help is appreciated before I start this project. Thanks!!

Try Audio Asylum Vinyl forum. Quite a few Rega users over there.

 Got a protractor handy?

If you have no spacers try doubling up on mats.

You need a scale. VTF is 1.41g

Thanks for the replies, y'all. After a bit more reflection and reading I decided to leave this to the experienced. I dropped it off at a local audio shop this morning. I'll pick it up later this week.

I have one, but I also have a VPI, so I have no tips for your turn table, specifically.  I will tell you that Denon low output carts sound amazing, but it's really important to pair them with a phono preamp that has the gain of over 60 dB and loading options between 200 and 400 ohm.
