Good find, Alan.

As an owner of Lou's Apollo's, I can't help but concur. I love mine.

Congratulations, Lou!  :thumb:

Can you guys comment on the midrange, that driver looks so inadequate?

I haven't heard the Apollos but have the Argos V2s and the mid-range is wonderful

Glad you pointed this out--thanks! My Apollo's are coming up on their one year anniversary and the honeymoon ain't over. I never get tired of looking at and listening to these speakers. They are so emotionally engaging yet so honest to the source. As for the midrange Nick77--to die for. Honestly, there are so many things to love about Lou's designs but purity and authenticity through the midband may be at the top of the list.  Things just sound "right"-- period. That's why the reviewer couldn't sit still at his desk when the Apollo's were playing music--the sound of real instruments and voices compel you to drop what you are doing and immerse yourself in the music. Well done Lou!

Hi, Nick.

Dodgealum and cheech are correct IMO. It's not just the midrange that is great - the whole range is presented extremely well.

Using a fullrange drive as a midrange driver on the surface might seem odd or inadequate, but it works oh so well. Lou (or someone else??) once told me that the driver's top and bottom ranges are limited/removed leaving the middle range intact to reproduce sounds within that range. Does what I just wrote make sense? Anyway, it really works. Ask Lou if there are any Daedalus owners nearby who will accept an audition, or hop in an airplane and come up to the PNW.
