My anti-skate on my recent Miracord Elac find was driving me baffy so I took it in for repair and servicing.  Today I was Jonesing for a tt and looked in Craigslist and saw a TOTL Kenwood KD-5066 that was less than an hour drive and was priced at $180.  I let her follow me home for $150.  It plays flawlessly and sounds wonderful. It’s from 1976.  I’m in aural heaven right now listening to Nicolette Larson 😊

Congrats on that pretty table.  A little car wax on the dust cover will make it look pristine. 

I see junk listed on CL for the most part and they are priced much higher.  I'm afraid that the day of TT fair deals are history, but this is encouraging.  Those damned hipsters have skewed the turntable market in my area.  They all want to play their "vinyls".

Any recommendations for a new stylus for its original V41A cartridge?  I believe it has its original and it sounds and plays fine, no sibilence or distortion.  Would be nice to keep the original stylus for the future, but want something as good or better😏

Its only flaw, the faceplate is a bit crooked and it’s not budging.  Any thoughts on how to remove it safely and reapplying it?

Put a couple drops of alcohol o the top edge. Carefully pry off reattach with a 3M double face tape.
All the Kenwood plates do that.

Put it this way, my eyes popped out of my head when I saw it in cl. I called and left a voice mail message that I thought would not be returned.  Sure glad he called back 👍.  Not sure how long the Miracord will be before it’s ready for prime time.  When it is, it gets married again to the Realistic Receiver it came with to build a vintage system around.
