Also, and this happens to the best of us, did you triple check to make sure that your speakers are properly wired in phase?

I am curious, did you have bass problem from the beginning with EB1i, or it changed for worse or better over time?

I think EB1i s really dont need a sub. They are more than bass powerfull.
Expensive cables to my opinion wont help either as cables dont have that strong impact to the final performance!
There is too much (expensive) philosophy about cables around.
If everything is properly connected speaker positioning should be the solution.
I am convinced that you will achieve a good result. Just be patient.
My EB1is have about 400 hours now and are getting better every day.

Thankyou everyone,  I believe James and others are right.  I will spend the next several days moving my speakers around to find the "perfect" sound.  I will also give my dealer the beneifit of doubt in regards to speaker cables and interconnects.  He has offfered the the new cables for no charge. He said he will ensure I will be satisfied and will make it right if not.  Time will tell....
