Well said.  I'm glad to see we're in basic agreement.  I'm not trying to start any controversies here--just trying to present my perpective as a designer.  I guess I could play the drivers I'm using for extended periods of time before taking measurements, but it isn't practical to "break in" every crossover component I'm likely to end up using.  I'm not even sure how I would do that.  And, as a factual matter, the actual design is done with imaginary components in the software, so I don't think I could ever break those in.  Generally, when a manufacturer claims that you can't really judge a speaker until 100 or 200 hours of use, I suspect they're mainly just trying to get their initial return rate down.  So far Jim doesn't seem to have had much problem with that.

I also use them for the TV.  I am retired and often fall asleep watching TV or music so they are almost on 24/7.
