My buddy is about to buy the Aeolus by ZMF.
You can choose customize the wood and the grills .
I have listened to a bunch of fantastic reviews on YouTube!!

https://www.zmfheadphones.com/

There $2500 flagship was said to top $5,000 headphones , calls them the best all around headphone on the planet!!! Verite better than the Utopias.

This should wet your appetite!!
Now Z did not like the Verite , and said the Aeolus blew them away for $1200 cheaper !!!

I’m using the AUTEUR‘s ..
My first headphones, so don’t have a lot of experience..
No complaints..!!
Other than being slightly heavy..
I like wood, and custom hand made products..
Works for me , I have very little want for another brand of headphones.
Works well with my OPPO 205, and or with my Decware CSP3 preamp..

I own the Auteur, pretty neutral, good sub-bass, liquid mids, no sibilance, not bright but excellent top end. If there are spikes anywhere in the FR spectrum my dulled out, 49yr old ears can’t detect them. They play well with all my amps but sound sweetest to me through my old Decware CSP2. ( i enjoy a rich, full body, bold but airy sound signature most with strong vocals)
For me they were the perfect pair of ZMF’s. I really think all their offerings are excellent though. It’s not only about sound, i also like everything about the product. It’s a great value, to get this much quality material and build for between $1-$2K.
