What jazz ALBUM are you currently listening to?

Hmmm, in rummaging through piles of late I've found more than a handful of new records I never played, like this one. Bought this Feb of last year along with Szabo's "Dreams" which I've played a few times. But only just slit the shrinkwrap on this - was surprised to see the vivd blue vinyl even though a label on cover says as much.

I really do suck at this hobby at times. On the other hand, it's going to be Xmas in March as I open and play the others, so I have that going for me.

If you are fond of vocal jazz in the style of the 1930s & 40s, here is one I've been enjoying lately. Rachael is Rachael Price from Lake Street Dive and Vilray is a singer/songwriter from Brooklyn that is obsessed with this era. Turns out Rachael has a great voice for this style of music. They even did the recording in mono, using the ribbon mikes popular at the time. Worth a visit, and there is also another album available from this pair.

New album just a couple weeks old from Kendrick Scott Trio. Very nice recording, modern NY style jazz, but super smart and innovative.

This is a recent Verve records release of the original recording in1962. I cant stop listening to this and enjoy every song on the album.
