Daedalus partner product with WyWires
« on: 17 May 2013, 06:25 pm »

We have partnered in the development of a power distribution center we call the Power Broker. This unit is for use with high quality components which already have extensive power supply architecture and suffer when used with active power conditioners.

(quote from WyWires site)" Our newest product - a high current power strip, with 8 NEMA outlets. Housed in a beautiful exotic wood box, handcrafted by Daedalus Audio, our partner in this project. Benefits include greater dynamic range, expanded soundstage, more detail, better image focus and an overall more visceral experience."

$2,495 includes 6 ft. special designed high current power cord.

Don't knock it until you try it. Very high end systems can get a lot of improvements from this little gem.

I auditioned one and after a few days in my system I fell in love with the PowerBroker and purchased one. The improvements in my system were not subtle.

It's a beautiful box made one at a time by one guy which some people might not appreciate, but combined with a good electrical design, I can see why it costs what it does. Seems reasonable to me.

I am helping NuFORCE with their room at The Home Entertainment Show (May 31-June 2) in Newport Beach, and we will be displaying the POWER BROKER for our Power Conditioning.

If anyone is in the area and wants to hear it we will be on the 5th Floor room #535.

Looking forward to hearing it.

Power Distributor or "Power Distribution Center".....not a conditioner.

The design of the Power Broker came about to serve high end audio equipment most of which does NOT function at their best with power conditioners. Time and again we have found that high end power amplifiers, pre-amps and sometimes source components do their best when plugged into the wall.

Our goal was to improve on that, with a distribution box of the highest quality using wiring technology which stabilizes the AC power without limiting current or introducing capacitors and transformers into the power line.  The hardwired cable is an integral part of the design. No coloration, just improved dynamics, stage, imaging and performance.

The Power Broker is not for every system, there are many power and pre- amps which need a conditioner, BUT for those that have robust power supplies the PB can be just the ticket.

In our system we ues a Power Broker for the power amp and often the preamp and source,  a Furman SPR20-i voltage regulating conditioner is also plugged into the Power Broker for use with any equipment with less robust power supplies.

Oh yeah, the wood box is NOT the big expense here, this could be done for a couple hundred less and put in a simple black box. The performance would suffer (we found the wood base has a very positive impact on the performance) and it really doesn't make sense to sell a $2000 black box.

hope this clears up a few questions

thanks,
lou

How does that work?

I'm sorry this put you off the track. As I mentioned in a previous post ( about three back) this product is not for everyone.  I will add that it really does improve most high end systems.

thanks,
