KWA 100 - Coming to a Dealer near you!
« on: 9 Feb 2010, 11:08 pm »
I am pleased to announce that we are on the cusp of shipping out the first KWA 100 amplifiers.  I have been working night and day - LITERALLY - to get the first units out the door.

The KWA 100 is U.S. priced at $3295 (will be more internationally).

Power = 100W/8ohms; 200W/4ohms.
Hi/Low bias.
Same Solid State Music Stage (Alan Kimmel Design) as found in KWA 150.
MOSFET output devices instead of bipolar devices used in KWA 150.
47lb. packed weight instead of 84lb. for KWA 150.
6"H x 17"W x 16"D. (Same flat dim's as KWA 150, but 3" shorter.

We are admittedly a bit slow getting this one out the door, but I have had a lot on my plate and I want it to be 100% right before the first units ship.

If you are interested, ask your local MWI dealer!

Thanks,

Dan W.

Wow. Very exciting news. I look forward to hearing impressions of thw KWA 100 and KWA 150. Mosfet vs bipolar having much impact on the resulting sound of the amp?

Also, when you said "The KWA 150 is U.S. priced at $3295 (will be more internationally)," did you mean the KWA 100?

MOSFET vs. Bipolar output devices DO sound different.  The MOSFETs are slightly warmer.

I did correct the pricing above.  I DID mean KWA 100. Thanks for pointing that out.

The KWA 100's ARE shipping now, please contact your nearest dealer.

We are building and shipping on a regular basis now.  Most of the first 50-piece production run is spoken for and feedback has been good!

Thanks,

Dan
