Infinity made a lot of nice speakers during that era, and the 4000s were among them. The cabinets (usually dark oak) were nicely finished, and they used their ribbon tweeter (which was very extended, clean, and sparkly). The down side to them is that they used open cell foam for the midrange and woofer surround material, and the foam often dried out or rotted. One can re-surround the speakers fairly inexpensively, but I've seen used pairs of the speakers at garage sales for dirt cheap (10$)... so it may be a bit tricky to sell them (particularly if the surrounds are bad). Better to put them in a second (bedroom, garage, study) system and use them (IMHO).
