If anyone on this forum is interested in a pair of upgraded by Danny Carnegie Acoustic cst 1's please respond back.  I live in Louisville, Kentucky and will be glad to demo for you.  I will also be glad to deliver with 100-150 miles from Louisville.  These punch way way above their price point!

Danny told me it was okay to post this here.

Thanks very much.

Upgrades were sonicaps, wiring and no rez.  Not sure if Danny added anything else.
I want $2K.  If your local or within 100-150 miles of Louisville, Kentucky I will deliver.  You can pay cash and avoid PayPal fees and shipping cost.  No other other speaker in this price range or even well above it will be better.

Thanks very much.

I want $2K.

I'll be more blunt --

We have to be mindful about gouging our fellow AC members. These speakers are $899 a pair brand new on Danny's website, and the upgrades certainly don't warrant your asking price. A price at one-third or one-fourth of what you want is probably more reasonable.

I am not gouging anyone.  I have $650 worth of upgrades in these.  For someone local these would be a bargain at my asking price.  Plus if a buyer wanted me to deliver them and I have to drive 100-150 miles to deliver, I have that cost out of pocket.   You can buy non-upgraded version and have to add shipping cost and possibly PayPal fees your still close.  The non-upgraded version is good but not near as good as the upgraded version. I don't think this is unreasonable for the quality of the speaker.... We will just have to disagree.

I got 25k in my vehicle. Now NADA only says it's worth 12k. Crazy how things lose value when they are used. GLWS.

This market is so tough it's hard to sell most used gear at 40% of MSRP.

But at over 100%?!     :duh:     :nono:

Lucks not gonna do it.  Try divine intervention!

Seriously? $650 for a few Sonicaps, No-res and wire?

You'd better open it up and take some pictures of those upgraded crossovers and wires, and those pics should probably show some Jupiter Copper caps and Jantzen foil inductors (or equivalents) for that kind of money.

I am not interested in the person selling speakers for $2000, that's ridiculous. What I am interested in is these two speakers being sold for $899!!!! Did I read that right?!?!?!?!?! Are they new or used?

Okay, so I see the CST-1 has improper damping material. Is this a major deal?
And I don'r see any issues with the Pedistale.

I think the OP can ASK whatever he wants for his speakers.

Perhaps leveraging Danny's thread here to do so is not that wise however, as many here will be well educated on the actual cost of the speakers and the mods.  And most of us here are in tune with the realities of buying and selling audio gear, and the respective $ losses associated.

Unclear if Danny was consulted before these were posted in his thread.

Good luck with the sale.

I think Danny actually posted a how-to showing the buyers exactly how to replace the damping material.

Yeah, and it seems like every year or so someone posts a reminder that these are for sale.  If I wasn't a open baffle guy I would buy a pair of cst-1s and be done with it.

I'm with mcgsxr on this one.  The seller can ASK for whatever he wants.

Yes, they are $899 a pair. And yes, on those pairs the woofers need to be pulled out and some additional insulation needs to be added.

And I told the original poster that he could post them for sale here. Price was never discussed. He can ask whatever he wants for them.

And I did personally upgrade that pair with Sonicaps, new wiring, and lined them with No Rez. It is a really nice pair.

Maybe he will entertain offers?

Absolutely agree 100%.

And we can point out that his pricing is waaay outta line with the marketplace.

Let the buyer beware, and let there be free flow of information in the marketplace.      :thumb:
