I offer custom tops for the Sensations and Pianos.
as long as I can find the wood in small quantities I can build them for you.

here are a few pics of some Waterfall Bubinga tops and Kerelian Burl tops
woods I have in stock now are
waterfall Bubinga, figured Makore, Kerelian burl, sapelli, Walnut
most of the time I can do custom tops for $45 each but if you want a very rare hard to find wood it might cost more.

Dang Jason, when is enough, enough?   I've spent nearly $2k w/ Virtue Audio the past couple months & here you go & tempt me w/ that burl veneer !    Those burl tops on my recently ordered Sensation & Piano would look really good w/ my GR Research N2x walnut burl veneered speakers. I ordered that neat looking zebra wood, but still. Must resist ...

I just wanted to show off the "Block Mottled Makore"

I have 5 of these built and ready to go.
as of right now I'm out of the Karelien Birch Burl.

I also have 1 Karelien Birch Burl top with a small flaw on the back of it (see picture)
I'll knock $10 off that one and offer it for $35. the flaw is very small and is NOT in the veneer but in the ply wood used for the base.

I just thought I would add my contribution to this thread. I was never entirely happy with the original top on my Sensation because of the way the grain looked (the first image below). This was not Virtue's fault--it is simply a feature of wooden veneers. I decided to try a couple of Jason's custom tops. The first time around I actually messed up the order by giving him the wrong details, but he fixed things for me very quickly (thanks, Jason. Sorry about the foul-up!). I have now tried his Block Mottled Makore top (second image down) and his Waterfall Bubinga top (third and fourth images). It is very hard to choose between them, but I think I will go with the Waterfall Bubinga for now. Anyway, here are some images for your delight and delectation. Cheers.

This is a Tweak Question. 

    Has anyone used Mortite/Rope Calk on the inside of the tops of a Sensation or Ice Block? 
I am wondering if it damp resonances and improves the sound. 
I am speaking specifically about those that have a Tube Buffer.

    I do have the custom Karelien Birch Tops on my Black Ice Blocks and the look is "To Die For" 

   The Custom Tops are Highly recommended.

Not to take it away from the subject but since we are talking about customization options........ anyone thought about main volume knob upgrade ???
I found the guy that might do it reasonably cheap. 
He is going to work on my order with dozen different sizes and wood finishes. (zebra was my choice for Sensation).
If he comes thru, I will post pics of his work and more info. (or just contact me via PM for more info and link)

We definitely have plenty of the knob inserts. 2-ton epoxy with 5 min. work time 15 min dry time works great to attach the knob to the insert. Sensation knob is easier then the ONE.2/TWO.2 knobs, as you just match up the flat edge of the insert to the flat edge of the knob....
