 .  Cleaned out my monster system.  Need a good set of monitor speakers. Smaller towers ok too but a good tower is so heavy.  A monitor you can place on a stand. Listen to old rock and roll with lower volumes so need sweet sweet stunning definition and clarity. Clear and crisp vocals for those ladies of rock. Sold my Proac D-38's .... will miss those puppies ,,  a good speaker for sure ..  .  Any help thanks much ,,,,  lot of smart audio guys around here ,,,,

Just sold some Volent VL-2s. They would have been a great pick. What gear is still in your system?

Why don't you buy Russel's K&H 0300s here on AudioCircle. They are active 3 ways which are said to be very high quality. You want simplicity don't you, well that's as simply as it gets, yet killer sound.

Years ago I listened to a pair of Proac Response 3.8s at a local hifi shop and came away feeling they were the best speaker I'd ever heard. Not going to be easy replacing those speakers, but I wish you luck.
