This does nothing but piss me off, why can't I find something like this?  Just kidding of course, I've got some great deals over the years, just nothing quite like this.  I've found a battleship JVC DVD player that was from the days when DVD ruled for $5.  Works great as a transport for cd media and surprisingly sounds very pleasant on its own.  Speakers, so many speakers.  Anybody else have great finds?

In the article Mike says its best one he's every seen and there was no need to do a service on it at all.  In Perth we are speculating that the reason for its dumping may be have been because of a marriage breakup and an angry ex wife lol.

I suggest you hit thrift shops regularly- especially in affluent areas. There are deals to be found. It's getting to be a little difficult now because when people see a good deal, they're now scooping them up to probably sell on eBay.


I've bought myself a number of Denon, Sony receivers and CD players over the years for $5-10.

Unfortunately there are “professional” flippers who frequent the thrifts several times a day and many who have business relationships with the staff and have access to the back room. Thrift store scores are not as easy to find as in the past.

Yes, there are a couple of guys doing this in my area.  They snag all the best stuff.
