Well I'll be back at the Cornet this weekend now that I have a new drill press. Wouldn't you know the motor decided to go on my old one, bought at an auction 10 years ago so the price was right but timing bad for a smoked motor.

I'm going to try using a step-up bit that I got from Menards. It's an Irwin so it should be a decent enough bit. I'm still trying to locate the countersink bits, I don't want to use the typical bits for wood but so far haven't had any luck finding a good set locally.

Hi Brian.

these countersink bits from Lee Valley are what I used. They work really well. We have a Lee Valley locally so I don't have to order them. I'm sure shipping is reasonable though if you don't have one locally, They have a lot of good quality useful tools so I'm sure you can find some other things to add to you order!
