douglas p's 2N1 man-cave

two rigs in one room
Thumbnail for the heart of the matter: my simple, but good sounding stack - NAD 165 pre, NAD 565 cd/dac and Adcom 5500 amp
Thumbnail for left-front view of the two rigs. There is of course, a lack of tweakability with the speakers suspended from the ceiling, but this was not originally intended to be my main 2-channel music room. It just worked out that way. If Iever replace the rp Sony TV with an LCD or plasma, that should help the center fill solidify a bit. Of course, that's the trade-off with the 901's. You get huge, life-size images, but they're not well defined. A bit fuzzy.
Thumbnail for Full-frontal A/V. Yes, it's two, two, two rigs in one (room). I have an adjacent family room that used to be my main 2-channel room, but the 901's in the man-cave over-took that system (RBH/Onkyo) in the pecking order.
Thumbnail for Another angle on the core stack, with my trusty slim Devices Squeezebox Classic visible to the right or the pre. Behind the cabinet doors on the right resides a CD recorder, a cassetted deck, a turntable and the Bose 901 EQ.
Thumbnail for The AV side:
The A/V stack on the right side of the TV: It consists of a Marantz NR1602 7.1 channel receiver, Marantz UD5005 uni. Blu-ray player. and a Dish 211 HD sat box. Behind the doors on this side lives my old Sony VCR and Panasonic DVD recorder. Speakers on the AV side of things are a/d/s/ HT 400LCR's in front, a/d/s/ HT300's in back, and two Velodyne DLS4000R subs in the rear corners of the room, crossed over at 60 Hz.
