Unifield 3 MkI vs VR5 Anniversary MK2
« on: 20 Mar 2018, 03:14 am »
Hello all,

Am considering upgrading my current set of Unifield 3's to VR5 Anni's Mk 2.  Current set up sounds great, but as it always goes in this hobby, there is something better out there...
Differences to expect?
Amplification needs?

Room 17 x 18 x 10 to 25 ft sloping ceiling, open to a foyer to left, 9x 7 passage leading to dining room at the back.

Equipment:
Bob Carver Raven 350
Lampizator Big 7 w/ Volume control (so it's the preamp too)
microRendu, Uptone Iso Regen, Synology NAS

Thanks,

Arnie

Arnie,
You can’t go wrong with a pair of VR-5 Anniversary MKII’s. I’m running my pair with a McIntosh MC452 along with a pair of Masterbuilt cables. A little background, I bought the original VR-5 Anniversary back in 2008, then in 2012, sent them out to VSA for the MKII upgrade. Let me just say that VSA has the best team to work with, they treat us like family, very satisfied with their dedication to excellence! Not sure but you may want to talk to Leif, there could be a pair of VR-5 Anniversary MKII’s still available!

Enjoy the ride,
Henry

Should be an excellent upgrade and easily fill your room. I have owned VR4SR, VR5 Anni MK2 and Now VR55Aktive
