The idea of "porting in engine sound" is far from new - but an external version?  That strikes me as odd.

Next thing you know, you can customize it, and have Chewbakka roar when you stamp on the gas I suppose!   :lol:

Toyota Prius has been doing that for a while, as many all-electric or hybrid cars in electric mode can take pedestrians by surprise, being almost silent.

In that usage, it's a pedestrian warning device rather than a driver sensory "enhancement".
