This thread is to discuss Raife Smith's scientific measurements on Residential Powerline Noise that appears in the September Issue of A$$A.  The measurements and inferences deserve discussion.

I started reading this at work, very interesting indeed. I'll be reading the full article tonight (hopefully). Thanks for securing permission to publish this as I certainly would have missed it otherwise.

I have to ask,

are the test instruments powered in the same house, hence impacted by the same power noise/weaknesses measured and displayed?
Don't get me wrong, I know AC is poluted with DC and with noise but just wondering if the instruments are isolated from it.

thanks
