Houston Audio Society - January Events
« on: 7 Jan 2012, 10:19 pm »
The Houston Audio Society has two club-sponsored events in January:

On Tuesday, January 10th, at 7:00 PM, Mr. Steve Newberry, Music Director and Organist of the Church of St. John the Divine Episcopal will demonstrate the resources of the 144-rank LeTourneau organ and play a few selections for the enjoyment of Houston Audio Society members.

Our regularly scheduled meeting is at 1:00 PM on January 14th at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, Room C. The subject is a comparison of balanced preamps in the $2K price range. Everybody is invited to our regular monthly meetings.

HAS members and everybody else are also invited to Fred and Linda's bodacious, outrageous and contagious 45th anniversary party at the JP Hops House on Saturday, January 21st. We'll have a buffet and live music featuring Willie B and the Silverbacks. Food at seven, music starts at eight. Hear Willie's warmly distorted vintage 6L6 tube amp with Fender Telecaster, plus six other musicians playing keyboard, flute, acoustic guitars, drums, and of course the joy of sax, all through this venue's really excellent sound system featuring actively tri-amped three-way horn-loaded Mackie speakers. The Hops House has over 150 brews (27 on tap) including a plethora of fine handcrafted microbrews. http://www.jphopshouse.com/index.html
