HT Newbie Question-place VCR vertically?
« on: 19 Apr 2004, 05:10 pm »
I'm tryng to set up a home theater system.  In the wife-mandated cabinet there is not enough room for the VCR.  I have the following choices:

a)  find a VCR 12" or less wide-so far, no luck,
b) stand the VCR vertically next to the TV, or
c)  place the VCR in another cabinet, which will require interconnections about 30' long.

Its a simple stereo VCR-RCA connections only.  We rarely use it, but my wife wants to retain for the once a month or so that it is used.

Any ideas?  I'm leaning towards option (b)-vertical-but don't know what effect this will have.

Option B should be fine as long as it's not being cooked in the cabinet that it's in.

They run fine on their side. But if something else in the cabinet is cooking them pretty good, they won't ventilate very well on their side...
