What is your oldest album that you still listen to songs from at least occasionally? Can't be 45 rpm singles. :nono:

The one that got me hooked on Hard Rock and still listen to songs River Deep Mountain High, Hey Joe, Kentucky Women, Lelana and Bird Has Flown.

This was my first full length album. Up to then, I had bought singles.

I had some alumínium 10 inches from the 1950s but now its a 2001 soundtrack from CBS 1968 with various electronic interludes by Morton Subotnik famous electronic music pioneer and husband of the soprano and contemporary music composer Joan La Barbara.

I've got a dozen or so older 78 rpm acetates, but I didn't list them as they don't get played.  The Oscar Peterson does occasionally get on the turntable.

What does this sound like?  as we know the film sound track is a real dog sound quality wise.

I'm confused.  Are you saying that film sound tracks in general are poor quality?  I'd have to strongly disagree.

By my memories it sounded very transparent and good soundstage presence as usual in the CBS, much better than my others LPs from prog rock as Procol Harum and Moddy Blues (UK Decca) although my system was not great at the time.

Sorry, no there are lots of great sounding film soundtracks' I have 3 versions of Casino Royal because I like that one so much.
I should have said the original two LP's for the film 2001 A Space Odyssey by MGM Records.

Casino Royal was exactly the example I had in mind.  "King's Row" on Chalfont is another good one.
