SLA battery for Bugle.
« on: 16 Feb 2012, 08:40 am »
I will be switching from the stock 9 volt batteries to 12 volt SLAs, but I am wondering if there is a reason why everyone who has done this has used two SLAs instead of just one.  Can I use a single but larger capacity battery instead of two, let's say, 5ah SLAs?
Thanks,
Bob

Actually you need two-rail supplies, because of opamps (they need +V, 0, -V), so the matter is not about power capabilities - it's about power voltage requirements.

Thanks so much for the clarification.  I'll pick up two batteries.
