I know this question has been asked in the past; however, it has been a while.

Has there been a shift in customer preferences for black vs silver Bryston gear?  I was scanning the pre-owned market and noticed that it appears to be dominated by black faceplate components (old and recent models).  About 4 to 5 years ago I recall silver being popular.  Just curious.

Silver is still about 2/3rds.

different but the same... How about amps with handles vs no handles??
I like handles, but a lot of amps folks are buying seem to be no handles...
What is the percentage? (thanks)

My 4B-ST is the 17 inch black version with no handles.

I didn't buy it for the looks. 8-)

I think handles on the 17in face plates would look killer!

The logic is that the 19" units are purchased in that width for rack installations where the handles help with installation.

I'm a fan of the 19' faceplates with handles - it gives the amp a serious look. 8)

I have no doubt  that the information posted by James is accurate.

Scanning current and previous sales from the past few months, I'm seeing the opposite.  Maybe people that purchase the silver units hang on to them more long term?  :dunno:

I made a big booboo and screwed my pre up. Left channel is kaput. It is abut 11 years old so instead
of getting it repaired I ordered a new one.Only available in silver face plate. Looks like silver is what
customers want. Also I'm finding that S.S. pres are not popular. The trend is a tube pre.

                                                Cheers

I'm glad to have handles on my 28B3s; it makes moving them when necessary much easier, whereas maybe less important on the lighter models.
