Spatial Audio X3 Review

My first review!
Love the X3s. I’ve had so many different loudspeakers over the years, but this one is very special.
Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the review. You should have mentioned your ancillary components.

I’ll add those to the notes.
I’ll be reviewing each component.

any more impressions while I wait? What is everyone's experience with amp pairing? Does it sing better with more watt?  :)

I love my X3s with a carver crimson 275. But I am curious how a good beefy SS amp would sound with them.

Get all your cables off the floor (carpet or wood)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   This is so simple and easy and cheap......way better sound.

Ric - I love ya.  My pair of ultimate attenuators, which I bought new from you, will never leave my possession.  However, try as I might, I have never heard a difference lifting the speaker cables off the floor. Done it with different cables and generally some fine gear.   I have had friends over and no one could hear a difference.  In fact, it was this very subject that led me to post here a few weeks ago requesting that the people in larger areas where there are many AudioCircle members start some comparisons on subjects like this.  That went nowhere.  So you may be right, but I remain skeptical.  But I am open to being wrong - won't be the first time.

Here is a nice comment from a customer who just received his X3s:

I've set them up

and I'm pretty much unable to speak.

The imaging
The tonal representation
The soundstage
The slam

in so many ways, these are significantly better than I hoped.

Simply wow.

They're an extraordinary feat of design and engineering. Thank you.

I've been sitting here listening for an hour, and can only imagine how they'll break in.

PS they were beautifully boxed.

PPS know anyone who wants to buy my Devore 0/96s?

Wow.

Thank you.

Thanks for posting Clayton, I agree with Seth 100%.  I've often wondered what those other speakers sound like, now I can stop wondering.

Hi!
I wonder how reliable these amps that come with the X3 and X5 models are?

:D can I please ask the difference between the 3's and 5's ?   There is a pair of 5's here in Canada for sale at 7500.00. ,,,,   Slightly used.  Thanks for any words !   :D

The only difference is the 3 has a 15” powered sub vs the 12” driver in the 5.

When considering conversion between Canadian dollars and USD, those are almost MSRP. Way too high IMHO.
