Hi jhm731,

Wonder if the Amarra Four sounds as good as the ULN-8.

http://www.sonicstudio.com/amarra/amarra_hardware.html

Sonic's interfaces are made for them by Metric Halo.

The Amarra 4 essentially IS a ULN-8 but (if I'm not mistaken) without the mic preamps - as Ted has already mentioned.
Sonic adds their own EQ and RIAA, where the ULN-8 has Metric Halo's EQ (my personal favorite) and RIAA.

The 303, 304 and 305 are other variations and the 302 is essentially a ULN-2.

I would expect the same excellence, regardless of the name on the front panel.

Best regards,
Barry

So it is minus the mic preamp hardware, has different EQ and RIAA software, but is $500 more?  Wonder why that would be?
