This design is a 1.5 OB Tower based on the 6.5'' Alnico drivers. See Attached pics for details..

Those look great! i would love to hear those!!
-
:o Wow!

I had Louis design me a tower version of his 1.5 OB Monitors. I owned these speakers back in 2015 but wandered away from them.. :duh: To be honest, these speakers with a 45 SET were absolutely lovely. The OB Monitors did require a subwoofer. The Tower OB version will not (per Louis). See attached.

Man...I'm gonna have to keep these in mind the next time I look to get another set of Omegas. These have really caught my attention.
-
Wow!
Those look like some special speakers!
-
As I understand, the lower RS5 is crossed over at 200 Hz. Would love to road test these.
-
Lower driver is @500hz for the OB monitor and @200hz for the OB Tower.
-
WOW is right! Would love to hear these OB Towers. :o
-
Operational. Very lovely. Only @ 20 hours on the drivers..

Awesome!
How low do they go? You feel they don’t need a sub? I might inquire into a pair of these. Just beautiful
Where is the backdrop out the window?
-
Kray !
A sub will be needed.. its a 6.5 woofer. Even Louis can not bend the laws of physics
I am in the process of ordering a 18'' from Funk Audio. The back ground is the Whitefish Mountain Range in Montana.

Even better tilted back ! Breaking in.. much stronger mid bass and low end punch. Lovely speakers. A step beyond the RS-5 OB. I feel in a smaller room it is possible not to need a sub.

Congrats Dwight!
Looks great and good choice on the Funk sub too, those are monsters. :thumb:

Glad to see you got them in a different room. That first room looked awfully lively! I bet they sound fantastic.
-
Dwight,
I'm happy the Omega open baffle speakers are working out. They look stunning.
I would love to know what is feeding the Omegas.
What amp/preamp are you using?
What sub are you using.
And that audio rack. Thats a looker! What is that?
It looks like you have curated a killer set up!

The steel stand is custom based on 2.5” maple for the shelves. Weighs a ton. Not fun to move !
The jfet preamp is diy.

The Alnico OB’s are excellent speakers but need to be at least 4’ from the back wall, otherwise the back wall reflection becomes an issue.

What is the story of that sub? It’s a beast! I’m still jealous of your omega open baffles. They look great!
