"The 2012 CAF will be held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Rockville, MD just minutes north of Washington DC. Our 2011 event had lots of traffic from our regional audiophile friends and also had many returning exhibitors along with the addition of many more we all know and love so must have done something right!

The rooms of this venue are oriented well for most any audio system and will accomodate intimate up to large scale systems. The rooms are furnished with carpeted floors, solid masonary walls and nine feet high ceilings throughout. For more information on the floor plans and room types please view the Venue Information page or contact CAF.

The CAF 2012 will include quality audio ranging from the affordable to the exotic as well as vacuum tube and transistor equipment and analog and digital playback sources. Food and beverage are available from the hotel and many nearby restaurants and pubs. On Sunday AM there is an open-air tailgate Audio Swapmeet on the rear parking lot grounds where we hope you will buy and sell audio gear and hifi related electrical parts and components as well as vinyl LP records etc.

Wow, almost a year already?!?

If schedule allows, I'll be there, with a trip to Joe's Record Paradise right after, most likely.

We got people getting together for dinner at Dogfish. I'm also trying to see if people want to get together for brunch/lunch (just an appetizer or small lunch prior to going to the Fest).

Will there be much in the way of modded vintage tube gear, a la Mapleshade's Scott 222?

Mapleshade has not been there for the first two years, although they did contribute to the give aways (of free CD bundles) last year.  They did have a collector with a website the first year.  They have had modern manufacturers too in the past like Border Patrol

Personally, I'd rather go to THIS show amongst them all.  The east coast beats the midwest anyday of the week for me.  Besides, I gotta an invite to eat some bay oysters in beer tho I can't picture what I'm saying.  One of these days I might get to meet some of you cats.  Ladies, too, I would hope.
