Subwoofer help with Odyssey Kismet Monoblocks
« on: 21 Jan 2019, 05:43 pm »
I am thinking on integrating a couple of subwoofers into my 2 channel system.  My pre is a Micro Zotl 2.0S  with no sub out.  Can I run speaker leads from the mono blocks to the subs? Not quite sure how they are grounded.
Thanks,
Russ

What subs are you running?  Should be able to.

I'm actually in the que waiting for some monos also, I have 2 REL t9is and it looks very easy to set up with monos

They connect right where the speaker connects in back of amp

Yes - Rels are made that way (I have 4 older ones in 3 different systems).

To the OP the answer is yes.  I ran Vandersteen and then Rythmik subs with multiple Odyssey amps for years.  Works fine.

Thanks for replies.  So leads right to the sub and back to the main speakers?  I have always had an AVR and used the LFE out. Just getting serious about 28x22x10 room that will be multi purpose , but built for audio. Going to need a couple of subs to fill it up!!

No two pairs of speaker runs. One to the mains and one to the subs then cross the sub "under" the mains if this is for music.  Simple method is to use spades at the amp end for one and bananas for the other pair.  For subs look into a pair of Rythmik F-12's.

Just follow the REL setup guidelines (worked great for me with a pair of T7i subs).
