Post by: fre11111 on 5 May 2022, 01:25 am
Greetings, my name is Frederick del Rosario. I am formerly a Audio Retailer and Installer from Asia. I have been involved in the Industry for about 20 years. I want to offer my services to anyone who needs help with Gr Research Products and maybe other DIY Projects. I am located in Victorville, CA 92395. I can help with: Assembly, Wiring, Crossover builds, Etc. even if you have an existing DIY build that you want to clean up the wiring.

I am just trying to help pay Medical Bills that are constantly coming. Our Family situation is not allowing me to work on a normal basis. I am a Audio Hobbyist at heart so I only charge a minimal fee. I am very Transparent and share build pictures with my previous clients.Thank you.

Nice looking work.

I wish you the best with everything your family is going through.

My family has been through some very dark times the last few years, also dealing with some child health issues. I share that only to qualify my genuine sympathy for your situation. I hope the best for all of you.

Those are pretty, but NOOOOOOOOOO!!!  :o  You're taking those beautiful copper foil air core inductors and putting steel bolts through the core?  Changing the inductance is the lesser of the sins, worse yet is that you are adding steel (cheap steel at that) to the magnetic circuit and turning beautiful and expensive air core indicators into iron core inductors.

Somebody, please tell me I'm wrong so I can stop shuddering.

That was my first thought,Danny said not to put a bolt through the middle of an air core inductor because it makes it into a iron core which is bad for over 200 hertz.

The guys that just responded are correct. You can't put a piece of steel through the center of the coils. That drastically changes their value and negatively affects the sound.

Use plastic zip ties instead.

X-Statik Tweet & Mid Crossovers. The Tweeter circuit is waiting for some internal wires. Having them all separate will make it easier to mount inside the cabinet. These parts get heavy and heavy. Have a Greatday Audiocircle Community.

I've had some great phone discussions with Frederick and have recently referred some of my customers to him,  and will continue to do so. He does good assembly work.  I hope that he continues to get more work. My primary goal from the beginning in offering assembly service was never correlated to a monetary need on my end, it has always been motivated by a desire to fill a need and provide a service that otherwise wasnt available.  I'm thrilled to see someone else also filling that need. Please continue to reach out to Frederick for assembly work.

Hi Everyone,

This is a GR Research NX-OTICA crossover that was sent to me to be reassembled and rebuilt. This project was a chore but had a good outcome, I was able to save all the parts, make a new board with tube connector mounts and reassembled the whole crossover.

Thanks, Frederick!
That is my crossover. I want to compliment him for his excellent work, great communication, and wonderful customer experience.
BTW, I want to disclose that Frederick agreed to assemble just one crossover for me. Call it a lack of confidence on my part.
I made the boards, sent the parts and he painted them with Duratex, then wired one of them.....I will mirror and copy the assembly for the second one.
I mean, who else agrees to do half the work?!

Very nice work (as usual)!

I should swap out my CC for a bit and remove the x-over from my X Voce. Have the upgraded parts (somewhere). Problem is the other CC is buried in a storage locker and that is a daunting task. Can’t survive for long w/o my HT up and running.

May get to it at some point.  :green:

a GRS TR2 tweeter and Lavoce WSN041.00 4" Neodymium Woofer?
I can measure them in a cabinet with REW and umik mic.
If so kindly email me. Thanks.
Frederick just does crossover assembly.
Design work would require sending the drivers to Danny, installed into the cabinet  so we can design the crossover based on the actual acoustic output (4ms gated window) rather than electrical parameters or REW measurements alone which is a shot in the dark at best.

Lol, a shot in the dark, while blindfolded and spun around 3 times.

Hi. Are you able to design an XO for
a GRS TR2 tweeter and Lavoce WSN041.00 4" Neodymium Woofer?

Hi Roland,

I sent a reply on your messages. Hobbs and Tyson are both correct and mimics the same reply I sent you. Goodluck on your project.

Hi Everyone,

Happy weekend. I just wanted to post some photo updates, some Gr Research upgrade kits and some other small projects. In some instances I have to disassemble the owners previous work and redo the whole crossover. It is alot of work to unsolder parts and with some luck not damage the parts.

This is a GR Research upgrade kit:

Hello everyone,

Happy weekend to my fellow AC people. I just wanted to post some photos of stuff in the works. External crossover for a Gr Research NX STUDIO  and another for a different GR Research speaker. All of these had premium parts provided by the owners.

NX-Otica MTM that Frederick worked up for me.  I am going to do the final attachment of OUT wiring, per length I need them to be... depending on where / how I want to mount / house the crossovers.

This upgraded AV123 Xstatik crossover is so clean and orderly. Frederick does beautiful work, it’s a shame to hide it inside the cabinet.

Frederick does such nice work, he makes me want to build another pair of speakers so I get to have another crossover from him.

Exceptional.  The fact that he's such a nice guy doesn't hurt either.

Anyone reading this... just have Danny send your parts to Frederick and have him do it.  It's not expensive at all and more than covers the cost in value you'll get back out of it if you go to sell your speakers.  If you decide to sell your speakers and build something new, when you post pictures of this kind of work, your "DIY speakers" will easily sell...

Hi Everybody,

I just wanted to share this photo of a before and after POLK AUDIO SDA-1 UPGRADE. The owner sent me all the parts for this speaker.

BEFORE

AFTER

Here is a project I am working on right now. It is a full assembly, crossover upgrade and install of a GR RESEARCH UPGRADE KIT for YAMAHA NS-1000

This project will take few days to build and hopefully I can post photos of the build. I have been doing more of these full installs lately and would like to share that it is not as easy as somebody would think. It takes alot of time to do it the properly and carefully.
Thank you and have a great weekend. Godbless.
