Title: Wacky 968 tweeter attenuator
Post by: PaulFolbrecht on 4 Mar 2010, 10:08 pm
I have noticed that setting the tweeter's attenuator to -4 dB (haven't really tried -2) causes some rather obvious and annoying high-freq distortion.  Ironically, it makes the speakers sound occasionally 'bright', with a certain ear-piercing shrill that comes & goes.

At the 0 setting this effect is not present at all.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Bad resistor in the cross-over?
