A friend brought over a set of 3 Shun Mook Giant Diamond Resonators to place under my Big 7........wow!

Larger well defined sound stage, tighter bass and greatly improved separation.   

$2,200 is a lot of cash for some footers.

What is working for you, at a lower cost?

I have a friend who raves about the IsoAcoustics Indigo's under his DAC. ( which is NOT a Big 7) I have them under my Classdaudio SDS 254 and I like their effect better than the Stillpoint Ultra Mini's they replaced. All system dependant though. FWIW, I bought the Indigo's from Crutchfield ( $180) with a full 60 day return option. I kept'em.

Hi Labpro - Nice Giscours. I had a Vosne-Romanee for a number of years. Shindo makes great equipment. I have lower cost footers/bases that are very similar to The Shun Mook products. They are based on the resonating properties of ebony Mpingo wood.  Here is a link:

I'll take a chance on the mping guy from South Korea.......how can you go wrong for $95.

I'll place a set of 3 under the Big 7 and another set under my Giscours, for fun.

I'll report back to let you know what I find.

I welcome other suggestions, so we can all benefit from this thread.

Sounds good. Check out his bases too. They work well with the cones. He would probably replicate (or come up with something very similar) the Giant Resonators for you if you are willing to wait for them.

I went ahead and ordered the high bases......set of 4 for $155. Still a great deal.

Daedalus Isolation Devices (DiD) working very well under my Atlantic Plus.

But I look forward to hearing your reports about the Mpingo wood. Maybe you’ll get to try them against the Shun Mook.

FYI, oddly, I observed an energy/vibration ‘draining time’ occurring with certain types of footers; a handful of hours.

I feel footers with rubbers are relativly quick, but IME footers with bearings , metals, or that do sorts of energy or vibration draining out of the unit, seem to take time to settle. It’s happened for me in the form of hardness or brightness that seems to disappear over many hours. And I’m quite sensitive to that, so I def know when its there or not there.

The main reason for the footers is that my system seems to be a bit bright on the digital side (not on vinyl), and with the Shun Mook under the DAC, much of this has been solved.

I added some NOS Cunningham Globe 45's to the Big 7 recently, and I'll bet this is adding to some of the brightness since they are still breaking in.

When I get the new footers, I'll be sure to let them settle in before evaluating their performance.

   Please be patient with new 45 tube. Allow it to fully break in before tweaking for a tone control. After 100 hours if still bright obviously it is the tube. Was it bright, thin or hard before  tube change ? If yes the culprit usually is digital cable or transport.

The brightness is definitely more pronounced depending on the tube.

I have about 50 hours on the Cunningham 45's at this point.......they probably need another 50 hours to fully break in as you suggested.

Interesting comment on the digital cable and transport.

I have a Kubala Sosna Elation digital cable, and I think it is pretty good.

However, I'm going to try putting some footers under the transport (Acoustic Plan).....great suggestion.
