I agree totally about the Vsonics comparison, having heard them as well. I wanted a  very simple system  where the rest of the family sit with me at night and week ends.
For $300 AU for the drivers it sounds superb- enough to get me interested again to look at setting up a "main" system. For DIY to get a passive crossover right with 2 or 3 ways requires a lot of experience, and still can be left wanting. The experience and knowhow you and Hugh have in getting the Vsonics and the amps sounding as good as you have is a rarity.
