Title: Khartago monos stock to Kismet, what did you hear?
Post by: Dishman442 on 30 May 2018, 08:58 pm
I’m curious if any amongst you actually bought stock mono Khartagos, broke them in, got a feel for their sound, THEN upgraded them to Kismet like goodness?  More importantly, can you provide a little review of what you heard after the upgrades?

Second choice would be the same scenario with the stereo version?

For me words cannot describe the differences. You must hear them with your own ears to make the comparison. It is as simple as Toyota Camry versus Lexus ES350. Camry gives you everything you can ask for its cost, reliabilities, & performance etc... The ES350 gives you all of Camry & more luxury, comfort & more...

Thanks AITran.  Does anyone else have an experience to share?

All I can say is my current system is the finest I've had and one of the best systems I've ever heard.  I cant talk about the upgrade part as I went straight to "all in" Kismet monos.  These, along with a Don Sachs tubed preamp and modded Maggie 3.7 speakers and this old man, who has owned a lot of equipment, is in audio heaven.

I upgraded my Stratos Monos to the "Kismet" hybrid a few years ago.....simply put I heard "more of" everything.....extended lows, deeper soundstage were the first obvious improvements that jumped out at me....the soundstage widened slightly...I appreciate being able to incrementally upgrade over time with Klaus....the Kismet Hybrid stratos monos are tanks that should last a long time!   :)
