Tortuga Audio will definitely be exhibiting at this show.

The show went extremely well with great turnout and interest and thankfully no problems. I would say the first ever Florida Audio Expo was a great success and look forward to next year. I'm sure this show will be back.

Here are a few pics of our room etc.

All packed up and ready to load up the truck and get on the road to Tampa.

The room is finally ready to go and it's time to open the door.
Oh yeah. Those speakers? Those are Tortuga Audio speakers. The Loggerhead. More on those will be forthcoming soon.

Hey Morten,
Congratulations to you for producing a fantastic sounding room at FLAX! It was a pleasure to provide you the cable loom!

I just wish I had more time to spend with you and give you a "break" from time to time! Tell Sarah I said "hello"!

Warmest regards,
Pete

PS - I miss the sun & 80 degree weather in Tampa! It's snowing right now here in NY!  :duh:

Anything I've read about the show so far has been really positive and it's good to hear it was good for you guys as well. The new Loggerhead speakers look great and I'm a huge fan of ribbon tweeters.

One thing I don't see in your setup though is the previously announced LDR xB balanced preamp with new casework and integrated/internal active tube buffer. This was absolutely the biggest thing I was looking forward to at the show and for my next equipment purchase.

Crossing my fingers there's some positive news about it.

We had every intention of having the new preamp ready for the show but we ran out of time trying to do to many things in parallel. When it came down to crunch time we realized we could do new speakers or new preamp but not both. We decided it was more important that we have our new Loggerhead speakers ready for the show than the new preamp since we already had the LDR3.V25 plus TPB.V1 Buffer available as a stand-in.

Going forward we are focused on finishing the new preamp.  At this point I believe we'll have liftoff on the new preamp later in March. More on that soon.

Cheers,

Makes perfect sense and not a hard call to make. The speakers do look beautiful. Although I'm sure yours have a thing or two going on, I've been using speakers with ribbon tweeters for about 4-5 years and to me they really make a believable, clear, and special treble. I think yours will be good to know more about as your get all the info and pages together on your site.

Thanks a million for the update on the preamp, Morten! I've been hungry for info about that new preamp for months now, and for sure since last year when I started talking about it with.

I actually emailed you again a day or two ago about it, I'd appreciate you getting back to me once you've settled back in after the show.
Thanks,
Ben
