G. A. Briggs of Whaferdale is one of the founding fathers of loudspeaker design. I occasionally heard  of his open baffle speaker and have a small fuzzy JPG picture of it in my audio gear pictures archive. Thus it was with some pleasure I discovered an article on the Whaferdale SBB/3 speaker in INNER WORLD AUDIO webazine/magazine. INNER WORLD AUDIO is a Finnish magazine I enjoy because of the outstanding production, topics, and writing. About 1/3 of the articles are in English, the rest in Suomi. We got lucky and the SBB/3 article is in English.

The issue with the SBB/3 is 1/2009 downloadable as a PDF here:

Thank's for the link. I suppose it is an open question if Ralph West really is including the Quad in his reasoning. Althoug the electrostatic speaker type also is mentioned in the article. The whole text you can read hear: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/vintage.htm in 'Download Wharfedale 1956 review, zip file, 700 KB' . Very interesting Magazine, pity one doesn't read Finnish.
