Can the BDP-1 be re-booted via MPaD?

Steve

Hi Steve,

I do not think so - I believe you have to go to the Bryston Home Page.

Hi,

I ran into Theremin https://theremin.sigterm.eu/ today, which is a rather basic Mac MPD client. It is very fast though, and the lag one feels with Max, and even Mpad, is completely absent.

Just to let you know, and maybe of interest for Chris is his programming for BDP-1.

nice footage of interfacing the new Aurender S10 Music server: http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/Aurender-S10-Music-Server-Review

scroll down for the video, maybe some inspirational thoughts for the BDP1.

Like the possibility of using a Nas too....

Any way we could get the BDP to control the lights in the room?   Perhaps even grab a beer form the fridge?   Land itself on the moon?   It's clearly capable of a lot more then just being a music player why limit it ?

The BDP is perfect.   Why mess with success ?

well, I try not to let the confirmation bias, that tends to inhabit fora like these, stop me from wondering how things could be made even better.

The BDP1 is a wonderful machine, for sure. Fully agree on that one. I wouldn't want to mess with it. Thoroughly enjoying it.

But Perfect, what's in a name.. I feel that especially the BDP1's interface, which was what I was referring to, could be made even better.

Thanks,
Marius

Hi Folks

New version of MPOD available.

James

Thanks James, I have updated all the ipods in the house with the new one. Not many changes, but then it dosen't need any! I still think MPod on a ipod touch is the simplest, easiest to use and convenient interface/device for the BDP, mine and my families most used by far.

Cheers

Hi all,

Need help! Been trying to save playlist from mpod on ipod touch for two days now and have not succeed.  Does there a setting somewhere that I am missing or is it a bug in the software.

Hi Gil

I think mpod may have an issue because it will only save the playlist if you reload it. Mpad and Max save the playlists just fine for me

Hi. Just ordered a BPD-1 and BDA-1 due to be delivered in January (I'm in London) and I am now enjoying browsing this excellent forum in anticipation of having to purchase some hard drives and control gear.

Two questions - is there any app which enables a Blackberry to be used to control the BDP?  If not, then I'm likely to begin with a windows-based laptop as I do not possess an iPad, iPod or tablet.

Second question - is there an app which enables the iPad (or indeed any other tablet) to adopt universal / learning remote control functionality?  That would then open up control of an entire sytem from one device - a fusion of iPad and Logitech Harmony.

Not sure about your Blackberry question but Logitech just introduced an iPad/iPhone app and associated WiFi to IR repeater. Haven't tried it yet but their site has some good info.

Having spent many hours on the net over Xmas I have discovered that the SONY TABLET S has a currently unique universal infra-red remote control app including a learning remote which enables full system remote control - effectively a logitech harmony built-in.  Does anyone have any experience of using the Sony S to control the BDP-1?  It uses the Android platform.

Hi folks

Tried a couple of new free programs on my Galaxy Tablet that seem to work well with the BDP-1.

Droid MPD Client and BitMPC.

They are available for download using the "Market" icon.
