Your thoughts, please? :)

To be short, I enjoyed them.  I don’t have a dedicated, treated room at this time so I really don’t know if I’m going to be able to give a good, honest review of them.  The B&G ribbon tweeter is something special, nice and airy compared to my soft dome tweeter in my reference speaker, though you do have to keep it in line with your ear as I initially had them on shorter speaker stands and the imagining wasn't there.  Once I raised them up it really came together.  You definitely want to use these with a pair of subs (I wasn't able to in the short amount of time) to fill in the bottom octaves.  I would probably build the sealed cabinet version so that it could be easily paired with dual subs and have a very nice full range reference system.

I think it's the shipping cost to the next person.  Guess I'll know soon enough.

Thanks guys, I'm going to call Danny tomorrow with CC info and get in line for a so. cal. demo, can't wait to try these out. Hoping it will convince me to pull the trigger on an OB7 order.

Hi, I'm new here.  A fellow poster on Anandtech forums (vi_edit) turned me onto GR Research.  I'm new to speaker building, but I have built subs before.  I love building stuff and I'm heavily considering building myself the N3's (although, I have a fair amount of research left before I start) for my first Home theater build.  I have never heard planar tweeters before and it would be nice if I could sample before I buy.

In short, if this demo is still going on, I would like to participate in it, if possible.

btw, I'm in central NJ

It was $71 to ship/insure through UPS from Arizona to Washington.  It's a big heavy box(double=boxed).

I spent around $30 but am in a metropolitan area so didn't have far to go.

Holy cow, that's a lot of dough for an audition. I hope it doesn't cost that much to send them to me all the way out here in the sticks.

This is more like it.   :thumb:

I received the pair of N1X's tonight!  The shipping boxes are pretty beat up but the speakers are in great shape.  Those PE cabinets are really nice!  I'm digging the curved sides.  I finally get to hear the neo tweeters in action!  I will be running them all weekend so stay tuned.

Here one is compared to my AV123 X-LS.
