Picked up 2 gems this past week. Thought I'd share here, thinking they might interest Blues lovers.
Oz Noy - Twisted Blues Vol. 2 - I own many Oz Noy records, he's an amazing guitarist. He plays a Electric Jazz/Blues/Funk style. IMO this is his best yet, a great modern electric guitar record! Guest shots by Eric Johnson, Chick Corea, Allen Toussaint, John Medeski, Warren Haynes, and more. Good stuff!
This next record may not be considered a 'Blues' record but I can't imagine anyone that digs the Blues NOT diggin' this record!;) Henry Butler & Steven Bernstein (& the Hot 9!) - Viper's Drag. Butler's a legendary Jazz/Blues New Orleans pianist. Friedman plays trumpet and leads the Hot 9 (played with the Sex Mob and in Levon Helms band). This is a classic (smokin'!) New Orleans Blues/Jazz record, check it out!
