If this isn't the finest blues recording ever made, I'd like to know what is. Outstanding performance; outstanding recording. All in the same room at the same time with no overdubs, mistakes and all.

This is Blues-Rock/Modern Electric Blues/Modern Electric Texas Blues/Roots-Rock/Boogie Blues at its most fun. Surprisingly decently recorded. Nice slide guitar work mixed in here and there. Think Rory Gallagher/Billy Gibbons style of blues. Fantastic!  :thumb:

Ben Harper with Charlie Musselwhite      Get Up !

I've never been the biggest Ben Harper fan but I heard the monster Hooker-style workout I'm In, I'm Out & I'm Gone from this album on the venerable Canadian blues institution  Saturday Night Blues on CBC Radio. It blew me away and so I took a flyer on this album. It's really good. It straddles old & new, acoustic and electric, country blues and house-rockin' music. It's got Charlie Musselwhite. And it's on Stax !
Hot Damn !

CKLW, the motor city ...
Oh heck ya. (even though it was broadcast from Windsor!  )
Oh, and Martha Jean the Queen, sponsored by Louis the Hatter in "fashionable" Ferndale.
Ok, enough of this silliness.
My appologies to all of you bluesers for this brief trip down memory lane by two oldsters. Now back to our regularly  scheduled blues program ...
