$48 is a bit steep - wonder how long it will take to get recorders and media at a reasonable price.

You know, $1/Gig isn't really that much for new media. $0.25/Gig is about the best you can do for giant hard drives. I do think Sony took too long with the Blue Ray roll out but imagine the possibilities if we could buy recordable media, greater than 25gb storage, for what we pay for blank DVD's now. Then imagine a high quality megadisc player like the CX-777ES.  :o
I use an Unraid 5 Terabyte server, CQC automation, Sony CX-777ES 400 DVD player, and Slimdevices Squeezebox for all of my media needs via HTPC and it is fantastic. Cheap, removable megastorage like Blue Ray could radically alter Home theater in a good way.

All very good, but did you hear that the Samsung BD-P1000 doesn't appear to be apable of playing dual layer blu-ray discs?
