finally upgraded my system with photos on audiogon

http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?vevol&994629402&read

here's three classics   2006 salk 1961 Wurlitzer 1953 Kay Upright Bass

What finish are these HT3's?
Very nice.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill -

I am 99% sure those are waterfall bubinga with the hand rubbed high gloss finish. I've seen a lot of bubinga (since I ordered one of my systems in the same wood) and judging by Jim's photos and the forum here, is probably the most popular non-standard veneer he makes.

This is a terrible quality picture, but I thought I'd post it anyway. My speakers are cat approved: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=logo#/photo.php?pid=55708999&id=6825153

I promised myself to catch-up with pending “to do” prior to year end. This post was on the list…These HT3’s are finished in Ambrosia Maple and were Jim’s personal pair for a while. I have my eyes on them when the original sale did not go through earlier this year. Called Jim and told him to hold them for me – drove up to Livonia, MI for the AKFEST this past May, attended the show, had a great time and brought these speakers back home with me (no FedEx truck here)!
As for how they sound…all I can say is that they are one of the best sounding speakers that I have heard at any price for a long time. This includes reproducing both digital and vinyl sourced material! I asked Jim to build me a second pair of bottom plinth as I wanted the speakers to seat a little higher.
More pictures in my gallery.

Love my Song Series!

I was lucky enough to see and hear this system in person and it is nice. As said before, pictures just don't capture the workmanship and finish of these.

I finally got around to taking some pictures of my system since moving everything to there new room.  The room started as a two-room add-on to the house we bought a couple of years ago.  I removed a couple walls and turned it into a dedicated music/entertainment room.  The room is roughly 15' 9" x 22' x 8' but narrrows for a bit in the middle due to the fireplace on the other side of the wall and a built-in cabinet.

It is still a work-in-process as I have more room treatments to due and  still working on furniture, art, etc.  It will get there someday!

Thanks for the recent pictures!  I am way live and echo-y and will need treatment, more rugs, etc.

I look at these treated environments and I am envious!

When you post the pics, it would be nice if you would also mention the veneer....    :thumb:

Thanks for all of the comments.  :D

The ST's are in the standard Cherry veneer.  The stand that the equipment is on is actually a coffee table  :icon_surprised:  I bought it quite a few years ago during a blow out sale with the purpose of it being a AV stand, it has done well.  The biggest weakness is it doesn't hold much gear.
